Hi, I’m Jessica Mason, the human behind Island Eats. I live in Chilmark with my partner and three kids. During the day I lead a national nonprofit focused on helping launch cooperative businesses. On nights and weekends I work on Island Eats.
The story of Island Eats is simple. I love this island and I can’t stand the piles of trash that accumulate along our roads, on our beaches, and in overflowing trash cans in the summer. Inspired by a reuse system I came across in my work with cooperatives, I decided to work on a home-grown solution for our island.
Thanks for joining me on this journey. I look forward to hearing about what’s important to you: as someone who loves takeout, as a cafe or restaurant owner, or anyone else touched by this issue here on Martha’s Vineyard.
